Hiking
Sologne extends over three departments, Cher, Loir-et-Cher and Loiret.
There are 500,000 hectares of varied landscapes where fauna and flora coexist harmoniously, with nearly 3,000 ponds, deciduous and coniferous forests, heather and broom moors and cultivation areas... This region attracts nature lovers: hikers, fishermen, photographers...
Cycling tourism: On the small roads and paths of Sologne, take the time to cross typical Sologne villages. In partnership with the Club Sologne Cyclotourisme, we provide you with information and itineraries on 4 circuits from the Centre Ethic Etapes Jean Monnet.
These itineraries directly enhance the tourist sites not to be missed on your way, such as the Maison des Étangs and Maison du Cerf, the Étang de Beaumont, or the rich heritage of the communes... Medieval city of Mennoutou sur Cher, or the castles of Chambord and Cheverny... For cycling clubs, our partner the Club Sologne Cyclotourisme can prepare longer tours... Feel free to contact us on this subject.
Fishing
In Sologne, freshwater fishing is practiced on the banks of ponds and rivers. There are 3200 ponds, or nearly 11500 hectares of water, most of which are artificial, dating back to the time of Napoleon III. In the fall, pond fishing remains a true tradition. A few days before the official opening of the fishery, the bungs are opened to empty the ponds. Thus trapped in the remaining water holes, the fish (carp, pike-perch, pike-perch) become easy prey to catch... With a landing net...
