During your stay in the Périgord Noir region, don't miss a visit to Lascaux IV, a must-see for a memorable experience with family and friends. Between faithful reconstructions of the original Lascaux cave settings and immersive technology that plunges you into a truly unique experience, Lascaux 4 has been welcoming you since 2016 for an exceptional experience!
This true limestone wall, stretching for a kilometer and rising to 80 meters in height, is continuously carved by the erosion of the river and the effects of frost. Over time, it has developed nearly a hundred rock shelters and vast aerial terraces.
Nestled in the heart of the Vézère Valley, between Montignac-Lascaux and Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, this family space, real and recognized, reveals ten remarkable rock shelters, once inhabited by the Neanderthal man 85,000 years ago, and then by the man of Cro-Magnon 35,000 years ago. This area is one of the most significant concentrations of deposits in Europe.
